One thing you must understand is that Bitcoin dictates the market and up to 99% of crypto assets will follow what Bitcoin does unless there is a news catalyst or assets start to outpreform Bitcoin during Alt Coin Season.
It therefore becomes important to always track Bitcoins movements which we do on a daily basis.
An example would be this.
If you see that Bitcoin is trading directly underneath strong resistance then it would be unwise to open any positions in alt coins until Bitcoin breaks the resistance or moves lower and bounces off support. Bitcoin becomes your guide.

If Bitcoin moves higher altcoins move higher.
